Details

PMMA performs well between -20 and +70 °C, so it remains durable even in moderately heat-stressed environments. Due to its good impact resistance and biocompatibility, it is particularly popular in dental, medical and aesthetic applications. Although it is more brittle than PETG, for example, its excellent optical properties and chemical resistance make it a unique filament for spectacular, transparent prints.

Where to use it:

  • Transparent covers, lampshades, display windows
  • Dental and medical prototypes
  • Aesthetic, detailed models
  • Where visual clarity and rigidity are important

Where not to use:

  • For highly flexible or bent parts (rigid behaviour)
  • In high-temperature environments above 70 °C
  • For complex support structures that need to be removed by hand (post-processing is difficult due to rigidity)

Advantages of FilamentOn PMMA:

  • Crystal clear, glass-like transparency
  • Scratch-resistant, smooth surface
  • Heat resistance: stable between –20 °C and +70 °C
  • Biocompatible – can also be used for dental and medical prototypes
  • Domestically developed and manufactured

Additional data:
Recommended printing parameters for conventional printers (e.g. Prusa i3 MK3S, Ender 3 + modifications, Anycubic Mega X):
  • Head temperature: 235–255 °C
  • Bed temperature: 90–110 °C
  • Cooling: 0–30% (low cooling to avoid cracks)
  • Speed: 30–50 mm/s
  • Enclosed print chamber: recommended – reduces cracking and warping
  • Adhesion: PEI, BuildTak, adhesive layer or ABS juice recommended
Recommended printing parameters for high-speed printers (e.g. Bambulab X1C, Voron, Prusa XL, Raise3D, Creality K1 Max):
  • Nozzle temperature: 250–265 °C
  • Bed temperature: 100–110 °C
  • Chamber temperature: min. 45–60 °C recommended
  • Speed: 60–90 mm/s
  • Cooling: 0–10% – rapid cooling may cause cracking
