Polyamide-based materials tolerate prolonged mechanical stress well, making them an ideal choice for printing moving or loaded parts such as gears, bearings and fasteners. PA12 H is a harder type than traditional PA12. However, printing it can be challenging as the material is prone to shrinkage, so a heated bed and, if possible, a closed print chamber are recommended.
Where to use it:
- For mechanically stressed parts
- Flexible, wear-resistant machine parts
- Prints intended for chemical and industrial environments
Where not to use it:
- For simple decorative or low-stress prints
- In open printers where the temperature cannot be stabilised
