3D printing today is far beyond just making decorative objects. More and more clever models are appearing that truly make everyday life easier. Here’s one of those practical examples: a fully automatic, water-pressure-powered vegetable and fruit washer that is simple, eco-friendly, and surprisingly impressive in operation.

How does it work?
The device is entirely mechanical – it needs neither a motor nor electricity. The principle is simple: the water pressure from the tap drives an internal rotor, which gently rotates the fruits and vegetables. All you need to do is open the tap — the water does the rest. Within a few seconds, your product is clean and ready to use.
Why do we love this model?
It’s simple but brilliant. Despite the absence of electronics, it works perfectly. The design is clean, easy to print, and, most importantly, genuinely helpful. This isn’t one of those “print once and forget” objects; it’s something you’ll actually use in your kitchen.
What material should you print it from?
Many people ask which filament is best for this model. The original designer recommended ABS, but we suggest PETG instead — for several reasons. PETG combines the easy printability of PLA with the durability of ABS, while being much less prone to warping. It’s also water- and chemical-resistant, which makes it ideal for use in wet environments. The surface is smooth and easy to clean, and if you choose a food-safe variant, it can safely come into contact with food, such as fruits and vegetables.
Printing tips
For good bed adhesion, use a PEI sheet or a lightly glued glass bed. Be careful not to print at too high a temperature, as this can increase stringing. To make the model fully watertight, use at least three to four perimeters – this ensures sealed walls and no leakage.
